Default OEM B13 rear brake upgrade

I have a set of junkyard P10 calipers, the big NX rear rotors with pads/hardware. Also a 93 (I think) Altima master cylinder. Is this is pretty much everything I'll need?

oops... Car already has AD22s (doesn't everybody ) with an aging set of metal masters and 4 ss lines .

What kind of fluid do you guys run? I just have some off the shelf Valvoline synthetic stuff.

So is it necessary to have anything else for this to balance the front bias out? I keep hearing about replacing the proportioning valve but I hear differing things.

isn't the valve built into the master cylinder itself?

Actually the valves are screwed in to the MC. They can be unscrewed and replaced. The only thing is that there are two different manufacturer's of MC's and the PV's do not swap from one to the other....

There is a brake thread that talks about this in great detail and even lists the PV value's for each MC.

The proportioning valves that screw in are both for the(left/right) rear brakes. IF you have ABS you'll probably want the proportioning valve off the firewall of an NX 2000 with ABS.

No I don't have ABS. I just got the MC from a 1993 non-abs Altima. I'll go looka again. I hate the extra pedal travel you get from just running AD22s.

There is a devie on the firewall. I thought that was my proportioning valve.

to do the p10 upgrade i think you'll need the custom steel brackets as well

Bump so nobody knows if a MC off a 93 non/abs Altima will fit? I figured the earlier model be the right fit. No ABS on either.

Give Greg V a call. He helped me out with my rear brake upgrade. I'm not sure what year Altima you want the MC from, but he should know.

Also, it sounds like you have everything you need if the MC turns out to be the right one.

As for fluid, I use Motul RBF-600 and it's considered one of, if not the best fluid to run. It can be hard to find so order online or at a local dirt bike/ATV place. I would buy two bottles to flush the entire system. It can be done with one, but it's best to have extra. (I remember way back when I swapped fluids for the first time. I asked around and the best answer for how much fluid the system takes was 3 liters or something insane. I bought 8 bottles of this stuff and still have 5 of them left after 5 years. )

It looks like I need a 94-98 Altima non-abs MC (U13U). I have one off a 93 so went to the bone yard today and there were two (a 95 and a 96) but I could not confirm or deny that either has/had ABS. I'm a little thick when it comes to brakes.

I would give GV a call normally but I don't need any parts right now.

I'm just running regular valvoline syn whatever. I know Motul is the gizz but it won't make a difference for me.

Misinformation is a bitch.

I wouldn't hesitate to call him for advice even if I weren't buying parts. But then again I do buy a lot from him.

hey since i've seen this post i started accumulating parts to do the rear b13 swap too. so far i have calipers from a 92 maxima w/ ebrake brackets (also took ebrake brackets from a p10/g20 incase, i'm not sure which is going to work. they are different than the maximas i'll snap photos soon.)

i got my mc from a 96 maxima 15/16ths non-abs (same as the altima too confirmed on rockauto and part number on the mc is the same BM44, too). it happened to be the only car in the yard that had a nabco mc like my nx2000 has.

so i'm going to use the maxima mc with the nx2000 proportion valves. should be good to go, i hope. the mc is the same length as the nx but the reservoir looks to be a slight angle. hopefully it fits fine.
