I'll just leave this here:
How to properly install plain, slotted, or drilled brake rotors I disagree that the slot direction is of no consequence (I realize I'm in a tiny minority here). However, obviously the internal cooling vane direction takes precedence. If you're having your own slots machined on and think they should face in one direction (and not another) make sure to tell your machinist to cut them in the proper direction, taking into account the internal cooling vanes. Better yet, mark the slot direction yourself if you can. Anyway, good info in that link.

This is one of the those things that gets very little attention to detail from my experience viewing pictures of "top" builds.
