UMS Tuning was first discussed around 2000 when Tony was doing side work out of his house in Prescott Valley because of his passion to do things "the right way" rather then the "cheap and quick" way. Starting in a 1800 sq/ft shop and one lift, UMS Tuning opened its doors for business; while quickly earning a reputation for quality work, UMS partnered with Rockford Fosgate to build several SEMA show cars. With their work on these vehicles and entry into the phenomenon known as SEMA, their excellent reputation began to spread nationally throughout the automotive community. Moving to a larger building in 2006, UMS now had 4 lifts, and by leasing space to Xact Dyno, an in house DynoPack dynometer. In the Spring of 2007, UMS aquired Apex Motorsports of Tempe, one of Arizona's oldest names in the import tuner market, this move allowed UMS to add retail sales to its service and tuning capabilities. In the Fall of 2007 UMS moved to its current location in Mesa, along with the move, the purchase of its own DynaPack dynometer allowed UMS to really become a one stop shop for tuning enthusiasts.
