Thread: Southeast SR20 BBQ July 23rd

Location: Braham Spring Park Huntsville, AL

When: Saturday July 23rd 12pm-??

I will be reserving us a pavilion for the day. Braham Spring Park is a great location and has plenty to do. There are a couple of lakes you can fish out of (with a fishing license of course), volleyball, horseshoes, frisbee golf, and some other things i am probably leaving out. My dad has volunteered to grill for us. We are going to have some hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and a good time hanging out!

Fees: $5 for lunch We will also have a donation box set up to help cover some of the extra costs. The pavilion rental fee is $50. Will also need to get things like charcoal, napkins, plates, condiments, etc. So i will leave it up to everyone how much they want to pitch in. Also if people want to bring things like drinks, plates, etc. we can get a list going and that would help out as well.

For those of you who don't want to take off right away, we are thinking about getting everyone together and heading to the movies. I know Captain American comes out that friday night and i am sure there are other movies that will be out that we can go see. If any one has any questions give me a call 256-655-9246.

Directions:

2. Merge onto I-565 E 18.3 mi

3. Take exit 19A to merge onto US-231 S/US-431 S/Memorial Pkwy SW toward Memorial Pkwy
Continue to follow US-231 S/Memorial Pkwy SW 1.8 mi

4. Take the exit toward Drake Ave 269 ft

5. Merge onto US-231 Frontage Rd 0.2 mi

6. Turn right onto Drake Ave SW 0.7 mi

7. Turn right onto Ivy Ave 0.2 mi

8. Slight right onto 1st St SW


We will have signs up at Drake and Ivy pointing you in the right direction. If anyone needs different directions, let me know

I can bring anything that will fit in my car. Any suggestions on drinks? (soda, kool aid, gatorade,etc) I can bring the good stuff because I turn 21 on July 8th. But I am assuming this is a non alcoholic park. And I dont want to get anyone wasted for the drive home.

So bottom line is I will bring some drinks and Cups.

yeah unfortunately no drinking at city parks. but if we want to drink, i dont mind the party spilling over to my house.

i would say dr pepper, mt dew, coke. most people drink one of the 3.

I can do that. I will just look at the attendance list the day before to get an idea about quantity.

And on the drinking, Im not going to put my car in danger of my poor judgment after drinking. It was more of a joke than reality.

I think this should be renamed Alabama meet, as that's not really anywhere near enough time for any of us farther away to even think of attending.

Anybody in or going through Nashville want to caravan? I hope im not the only Music city guy.

The date ( not formally) has been talked about since end of may, first of june (being july 23rd) in the we need a southern meet thread...
