Radiator support
Has anyone undertook replacing the radiator support in their se-r? From what I gather it is 12 spot welds that hold it in???? I need some help with this because I have to replace it. Did it on my old pick up but completely different setup

Replaced mine in the the white car I bought that the guy hit a cow. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking but still a chore. Not sure exactly how many spot welds but its around that ball park. There is also 4 bolts holding it to the frame rails, two on each side. Had a buddy with welding knowledge and equipment come over to weld the new one on. Bought my new one for $75 shipped off ebay.

It took me a solid day but a lot of that was me trying to line back up the passenger side fender area from the impact. I worked with minimal tools, just a good drill and a decent grinder and a strong flat head to pry with. Once you get into it its not so bad just be patient don't let the tools go flying around the garage.

Did you use a spot weld bit or just a regular bit? Any body else have any experience with doing this?

You can use a metal bit a little bigger then the spot weld.all your doing is drilling out the bond points .or measure the spot weld hole off your new support.line it up .clean wherever the metal comes in contact with each other good. Clamp it on the car for your friend with a couple ov vicees evenly.call your friend up n let him weld it

Are you replacing because of rust or collision?

Collision from previous owner. The thing is just tweaked straight across, head lights dont sit correctly. As well as radiator and condensor. Like I said I have done a couple but they were all bolt in's from vehicles of a bygone era lol
