Thread: Car I'm going to possibly take home Saturday

So I've been scouring and lurking the forums lately to find a decent SR turbo B13 within my budget because I seriously miss mine from 4 years ago. I happened to come across this one in long island, and wanted to ask if anyone knows anything about the car, or even what to look out for while I'm there, longisland.craigslist.org/cto/3703528141.html I know it needs a little TLC but it's below my budget and I will have some funds to play with to put it in decent shape if it is worth picking it up I'm calling him this afternoon again to sort out some odds and ends. Any and all useful input will be appreciated

Well... I'd look at everything carefully.
Seeing as the seller knows close to nothing about whats on/in the car, or at least it seems that way.

I have a feeling he picked this up for a steal and looking to flip it............I will promise you he has next to zero records of any of the work done or knowledge of anything on the car.

Also, just to note: Just because a car is "cheap" and well within budget now, I will warn, once you start with a "shitty" baseline, you can quickly spiral into THOUSANDS of dollars very quickly, ESPECIALLY if the first week the engine, gearbox, ecu or everything quit all at once

Spend the extra and start with a proper baseline. You wont regret it!

However, I will say this, the car would be worth it to part out. Also, look into the Autronic ECU. Great ecu, and have personal experience with it, but you may want to do your own homework.

It could well and possibly have 400 hp with a standalone, a log, 1000CC injectors and a T3/T4, but these are the very same reasons why it also works against it.

Look it over thoroughly, it looks to be a good deal to me, even if it blows up because I know I will part it IMMEDIATELY once this occurs

plain and simple thats a $1000 car at best because you will be chasing wires and fixes all the hacks the owner did.
