my 2nd b13, 1st seR!
im a proud new owner of 91 b13 seR, i was wondering what type of oil and what grade fuel do you guys use??

it has 82,000 original miles, and the owner before me used Valvoline 20w-50, any one else use this type??

and that oil filter is in a crazy spot! im guessing just removing the power steering reservoir to get to it.

Usually 5-30 or 10-30.
And no need to move the resivor should be able to get it off without moving that.

Clean car.

clean b13. on oil there is a lot of options in brands but i think it comes down to personal preference and the type of setup u have. i use 10-30 castrol synthetic and 93 oct. for my NA setup. then again there are different opinions out there.

Thanks a lot !! Yeah these guys are endangered species! Had to get my hands on another one.

Yeah the owner before said he only put mid grade fuel, and every time he put regular he would her some pinging....I just put a small amount of regular and i haven't heard anything yet....wouldn't that have to do with the timing?

You'll love it compared to the 1.6 b13

Congrats on the purchase. I can relate because my first car was a 1.6 b13 then moved to the SE-R. SE-R put many more smiles on my face. Don't get me wrong, the b13 in general, is a fun chassis, but the SE-R is a smashing deal for what you get!

As far as oil, 20W is too heavy, especially in the winter. SR20s like 10W-40 in the summer/spring/fall and 5W30 or 20 in the winter. Oil changes take some getting used to yes, but you'll be doin it without soaking the engine and ground with oil once you get the hang of it.

Enjoy it and welcome!
