91-92 GT-S and 93-94 Super Saloon side skirts install?
- Is there a specific kit that some of you purchased from NISSAN, or did you go to the local hardware store and pick up some stuff? I want to do it right and not have it all rigged up, so I'm asking for some sound advice. When you guys do the drilling, it seems that water could get into the body of the car if not done right to create some rust issues.

- Maybe I'm over thinking this, but better safe than sorry. I just want to do it right the first time. Also, if I have the car painted, would the side skirts have to be removed by the painter more than likely for them to be painted properly? I ask this because I read about some double sided tape methods on the OG forum.

^Post #1 - Is where the water idea came from.

^Post #14 - Double sided tape idea, but just wanted to make sure about the water issue before I double side them and drill.

Thanks in advance, -Reese-

I'd be interested to see what most others have done too. In my past I've used self taping screws from home depot that also have the rubber washers on them to seal the hole when attached for the rocker panels. Lately I've been re-thinking this method simply because double sided tape seems less "harsh" if that word fits. The factory screws take care of the fender holes but the rockers and rear fender area with enough double sided tape would seem to work once you have clean surfaces on both sides.

I drill holes and tack welded in 10mm nuts so they can be bolted and unbolted like a stock part. I can get some pics if you like. I also etch primed and seam sealed the nits after I tacked them in.

Heres what I plan to use in the fender/wheelwells.
Amazon.com: nutsert tool
The rest will be 3m doublesided tape on the rockers. When prepped correctly the 3m tape will hold forever.I have lightweight painted CF skirts, courtesy of b13sr20BB,not the urethane/plastic,so I am sure it will hold fine.
Thanks Roger!

Edit: you get what you pay for with those tools. If you only use it once, the Harborfreight cheapy may survive, but its a great tool to have,so spend alittle more on a decent one and you wont regret it.
I use mine for alot of different things.

^You didn't screw any part of the side skirts to the chassis?
