Brake Pad Issues...
So...what brake pads fit on a 91 SE-R?

We bought pads from Autozone for a 91 SE-R part number MKD549 and they're wrong, won't fit at all (fronts) so we go back and try to compare the pads off the car to 1.6 pads part number MKD509 and they LOOKED too small, but we didn't exchange them and actually try.

Autozone doesn't mention US or Japanese made but both Advanced and pads on Rock Auto do, am I missing something? What do I need?

FOR ANYONE WITH A SIMILAR QUESTION...MKD509s fit my car, I bought them from Advanced.

Brakes are kinda confusing for these cars. MKD549s are for the larger brakes found on NX2000s. The SE-R uses AD18 calipers and the FMSI number for the pads is MKD510.

"Japan made" in a parts store lookup usually = NX2000.

MKD549 - front NX2000
MKD511 - rear disc (SE-R and NX)
MKD510 - front pads w/rear drum(XE/LE/SE/etc.)
MKD509 - front SE-R

Awesome thank you!!

I even asked the man at AutoZone to look up NX2000 pads and it was a different part number than the ones I had. I was also told that the pads I had were right and there was no way they were wrong because that was what is listed in their "system." Everytime I go to AutoZone I hear the word "system" like thirty times. He told me I was probably trying to install them wrong and just didn't have the piston pushed in enough...although they wouldn't even remotely fit anyway. lol

So the MKD510 pads from AutoZone have the actual pads separated, the ones on my car are not like that...is that right?

True, I'll try them, but if they fit is that safe setup that way or does it matter?

MKD510 pads don't fit this car...WHAT...THE...HELL.

MKD510 doesn't work for the front.
MKD549 doesn't work.
MKD509 didn't seem like they would fit compared to my old pad.

AutoZone says MKD510 is for the rear of a Sentra.

HELP........??
