Replacing Rack bushings issue...
Having issues replacing the drivers side bushings on the rack. It took forever to take the old one off, now when i put the new one on, it wont allow me to put the metal bracket on. I can get one bolt started, but if i do that, I have like an inch and a half gap from the other bolt hole.

The bushings I received are Energy bushings. Could it be that I received the wrong ones? The other bushing went on without an issue.

I guess I should have taken pictures.

If i put the busing on, will it be a PITA to bolt to the car? I am using a Pry-bar to squeeze the bracket to the bolt hole.

Hope you can understand this explanation, It is early and I am way tired.

There could be some rubber left on the steering rack itself causing the issue?

Back the bolts for the first bushing out and see if that gets you some wiggle room.

If that works leave them in by 2-3 turns and then torque it down in a cross pattern a little at a time.

I will see if i can take off the driver side without screwing it up. I may just take all 4 bolts out and see about putting the driver side on first before passenger since passenger is a breeze.

Just back the driver side bolts out about half way and see if it gets you any wiggle room. It should imo get you closer to sinking all 4 bolts. Then just 'walk' them in a little bit at a time switching in an 'x' pattern.

They are a beeotch though thats for sure.
I used a longer bolt once to pull it in some then put the proper one in.

Just got into more issue.
Feel like setting my car on fire now.
It has been 13 hrs of work on one bolt. Top bolt that you have to screw in from laying on the engine.
Evidently the hole is cross-threaded. Go figure. Not sure how this happened. Dont see how I can cross thread a whole with one hand and no leverage on the bolt but whatever.

So, I will be taking the transmission off next weekend, but will be buying a transmission jack for ease. Re threading the hole, and tighten. I will try and fix every ridiculous thing before I put the transmission back on.
