Wheel bearing every 2 years, wtf!
So I've had my 93 b13 roughly 8 years, Ive historically done a front wheel bearing every year. One year the driver side, the next year the pass side. The following year the cycle starts again.

I originally equated it to a 190,000 mile chassis, then maybe defective bearings. I've done tie rods, ball joints, and susoension so I then brushed it off as never once getting an alignment AND driving my car hard.

A couple months ago I bought my first set of new tires, ever, while also installing new tie rod ends and then getting the first alignment. I also did the passenger side wheel bearing as it was needed, I did the driver side last year. I thought now for sure that'd be my last wheel bearing for a while but oh no.....

Now a month or two later that passenger side bearing is already howling! I checked the lugs and axle nut which we're tight. Has anyone else ever had similar trouble??? What are some potential reasons this keeps happening, if any?

Are you properly torquing the axle nuts when you install them?

Was a timkin. Stopped at auto zone on my way home to bitch, I'm on a first name basis literally there at least twice a week if not more.

It's really pathetic when the guys selling the parts say: I wouldn't put this shit in my car. Well wtf!?! Don't sell it to me assholes!!! Whatever! Greg@gspec.com beat my local Nissan dealership by $20! Oem in the mail!!!

Thanks guys

Over tightness of the axle nut or over pressing the WB also fucks them up. I use national cuz its OEM also does the car sits for long periods of time, that fucks them up too

Can I tell you I feel like the biggest clucking idiot!!?!!

I set out to do the bearing over the weekend...long story short, it was the axle nut loosening on the opposite side.

I'd have bet money it was the passenger side with the noise being more profound on left hand cornering and going away with weight on the right side during a left hand corner. I had checked the lugs on both sides but only the passenger side axle nut. Oh well I guess, at least now I have the parts for future reference.

DOH!!! SMH!

You're learnin' bro. Betcha you won't do it ever again. Check everything and if you're not sure check it again anyway. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, especially with these cars. You do have the cotter pin and the locking cap that goes over the axle nut to keep it from loosening up, right? I'm assuming that's a yes.
