Thread: Why does it seem that B13's for sale lately....

....all have sunroofs??

Checking out Craigslist regularly and other places, it seems 2 out of 3 times the B13 SE-R for sale HAS a sunroof.

Now back 10 years ago when I first started fooling around with this stuff, you couldn't find a B13 SE-R with a sunroof if your life depended on it. They were like a myth. In the 100 or so B13's I've sat in, drove, worked on, or knew the owner, none had sunroofs.

Now, in 2012, almost all of them do. I just bought a '93 and a '91 in the last 2 months and BOTH had sunroofs that didn't work or were sealed.

My semi-theory is that people who opted for the sunroof package back when the cars were brand new, were possibly more likely to properly maintain the car, at least a little bit, so they lasted longer, and now the non-sunroof B13's that were beaten since the day they drove off the lot are rotting or rusting, or were sold for parts.

Anyone?

I don't know where you found them,but I was looking for b13 for the past 2 months and couldn't find one worth buying. I gave up and ended up buying from the south.

im always looking at b13's went and looked at one two days ago.

it had a sunroof.

i had a red one not to long ago that had no sunroof and a white one with a sunroof. the black one i owned over the summer had no sunroof.

i find it to be about 50/50.

i see no corralation of the condition with ones with a sunroof to the ones with out.

Did you buy the black one from New England? I know you and I emailed back and forth a few times about the white b13.

I do notice that most of them that I looked for back in 08 had a sunroof. Sunroof is great when it works but eventually they all leak and the motor gets stuck. Being 20yrs old, most of the sunroofs have issues so it may be just another reason to sell the car. Idk. Luckily mine is working fine for the time being.

The ones without the sunroof have always been the rare finds. Nothing new here.

I have found a few w no sunroof and they are both more rare and better. My sunroof and abs just pisses me off.

You're in the south, right? Maybe they sold more down there. Never saw one in my life in person until recently.
