jdm sr20 help
my clutch went out on my 92 ser, i had it replaced. but my engine does not run or sound the same after it was replaced. it sounds as if air is escaping out of the engine some where. my gas milage has dropped drastically by about 30% and so has my horsepower. i need an expert in sr20 engines in my local area because apparently, the person who i took the car to does not seem to know much about these kinds of cars or engines. i wanna say he did something to it, but i cant unless in know what was done to it, you know what i mean? so if there are any jdm sr20 experts in the las vegas area, please reply. or if anybody in this forum can assist me, i would appreciate it. thanks.

So after your mechanic replaced your clutch, your car began to act up? DO you have any aftermarket parts on your car or all stock? I'm guessing it will have something to do with the intake or maf. Usually You have to move that out of the way to get to the tranny bolts. Could quite possibly be a hose or something. Post a pic and description of your engine bay.

Did he remove the distributor? Check to see if the bolts were removed.

sorry for the delay. yes, i do have aftermarket parts. as far as i know (since i just got this beauty not long ago), its got eibach coilovers headers and a cold air intake which it goes all the way underneath my battery between the front bumper and the left front tire. its well protected though. i will try and upload pictures asap. thanks though.

once again, sorry for the delay. i looked at the distributor and i dont see any signs of being r&r'ed. i did notice though that the house that goes from the pcv to the eccs was lose, no clams. but i cant tell if it was like that already or not which i really really doubt i could have missed that when i looked at the engine for the first time. i put clams on it myself to hold it in place.

Replace the URL tags with IMG tags.

Unless those are 'in progress pics', a few things I spy:
  • Your throttle cable isn't attached to the bracket
  • DANGER WILL ROBINSON - There's a bare wire on the + terminal of your battery.
