them guys are just like the bozo's over on the b15 forums(they're just like the guys on g20.net), if you dont have what they have its junk when in reality the QR is shitty, low rev limiter, weak winpy rods and garbage intake mani...and too many electronic devices onboard than you know what to do with, i have one so i know how much of a headache they are, i have been lucky that mine doesn't burn oil...the qr head on the other hand is very stout, and was designed to rev to pretty much the moon, the bottom end on the other hand........

Its been slow development for the QR for sure. Hell they are just now finding an intake manifold they can use that works and makes power. I believe its from the b16 qr, supposedly made 20whp over the stock multi-runner manifold even using the same stock qr25 throttle body.

These guys are happy to hit 220whp with a 2.5L when in reality 2.2 and 2.3L ve's put an absolute hurting on them power wise.

Again the extra torque will only take you soo far. Having a short sucky powerband is not that great for road racing. While torque is nice you still need the nice fat powerband to be competitive.

Yeah if someone could get a solid bottom end together to handle 8-8.5k rpm and work over a head decently, nice intake manifold large throttle body, and have a custom developed cam that will work well for the higher rpms then maybe it will finally make some power. But in reality, their cam options suck and are good for basicly stock motors and thats about it.

The VE is no slouch on the road course. I took on a few built WRXs last weekend at FIR Main and
they had fits keeping up. SR16 cams, Fuji header, Calum RT, etc... There is a B15 SE-R in TA fully bolted
NA and even though we have never raced each other he said I would walk him easily.

I can bet you if the Spec V came with the P12 SR20VE 20V as nissan originally intended, they would not be saying what they are saying right now. lol. I posted up my 2 cents. Not to mention the Spec would have been faster out of the box from the get go and a hell of a lot more reliable. Could you imagine how much money nissan would have saved if they had just done that and how much more developed our VE's would have been. Oh well.

Its funny that even our VE's which wernt even offered in the states are more developed as far as bolt on wise than the QR is after 10 years in the states soo far. Pretty sad if you ask me.
