Reconditioned OEM 93/94 headlights or Taiwan TSURUS?
Hello All,

I have a 92 SE-R and I plan on re-doing my headlights which are cracked pitted and terrible.
Now If money weren't an option and I wasn't trying to finish my DET swap I would be all over
OEM TSURU's but I cant afford them right now.

My 1st pick was pick up a clean set of OEM 93-94 lights / grill / filler pieces and recondition them since there plastic.

After pricing this out it falls around the same price as the Taiwan Tsuru's.

Now I heard the non OEM ones yellow up and don't fit that good is this true?

Would these although not as good as OEM Tsurus still be better than stock 93-94 lights?
If the fitment wasn't terrible I was hoping maybe with a LAMINEX film they wouldn't yellow / fade so easily.

Just looking for the best lighting & fitment for the money ( trying to be thrifty if you must ) but dont want
lights that dont fit well, All comments would def be appreciated.

Thanks,

4 posts down in this section is a pretty detailed discussion about which ones are good:

Those are smoked, but I'm sure the brand applies. Go to the junkyard and get some decent OEM US B13 headlights for the short term and wait to do this conversion until you have the money to do it right.

Yeah still on the fence of either OEM 93-94s or TSURU's still thinkin originals! Very time specific look!

Do it right the first time. New oem tsuru lights are really bright.

I know just not sure if I wanna change the look to the newer style. Def not going back with 92's so its either Tsuru's or buffed 93-94's

Cant fully afford to shell out 320+ for OEM TSURU's with the DET project not done or I would so next best is either :

  • Refinished 93-94 OEM's which I can do
  • TAIWAN Tusuru's with LAMINEX to prevent chip & foggyness.

What about a sunny front end? That might be another option.

Dont do the Taiwan tsurus. I have had the Oem and the taiwans. The corners stick out, the headlight beams are pointing the wrong ways and it seems like it lacks light.

The reason I have them is because they were at a really cheap price. Otherwise I would get the real deal.
