Default weight balast?

I'm not to sure where this post belongs so I'm just going to post it here.

I had an scca driving class yesterday and I think I'm hooked on it but my car is not going to be competitive with my class because of all the mods I've done, I'd be with 400whp EVO's and turbo Lotus's. I do pretty good through the slalom but the big sweeper turns kill me because of the understeer aka "push" as I call it. If I bolt on some weight in the trunk to make for a better 50/50 weight distribution will it help me make the car more nuetral in the sweeper turns and have less push?

I was also wondering how I can get into the real road racing? Not just cones. Will my car be better off in autocross or real road racing?

Dont add weight. Take more out. Take it out of the front of the car, get the balance back with moving up to coilovers. You can do great things with cornerweighting. Tires and alignments have major effects on how a car feels. All the pieces are there you just need to adjust them to work for you..

You might want to look into something like the NASA TT or a Time Attack format. http://www.nasa-tt.com/
Usually these are done on mods-points-classing formats. You wont have to directly compete with the boosted crowd. My recomendation would be to start with some autocrossing, do a boatload of HPDE's and then give the "big" cars a run for their money.

I have 205/50R15 Azenis's on the car but they almost need replacing I was thinking of almost replacing them with Hankook Ventus r-s2 Z212's lol. I guess I just like the tread better, I also heard they grip better than the Azenis's but the have a slightly softer side wall.

Thanks for the link. It looks complicated though. What does tt, tta-ttf, and HPDE stand for anyways? I see it all over their site but it does not tell me what all that means.

Anyways what you were saying about the alignment mine is at 0 toe in front and rear and camber is at about 1* rear and 1.3* front. Also I'll be getting a Active tuning RSTB and most likely I'll be building a cutom FSTB and IKEA brace on top of all the parts seen in my sig. I think that should help a bit.

TT = Time Trial. Timed runs on a paved race track.

TTA ~ TTH = The class names for NASA TT time trial cars (check out page 11 of the NASA Time Trial Rules for the breakdown of what cars fit in what class).

HPDE = High Performance Driver Education. Track days, basically. Loads of fun. More info here.
