Twilight HPDE & Races at Pocono - Sept 8
Anyone else going?

MRF Night Race - Sept 8 2012 >

This is supposed to be the first TWILIGHT DE in the NorthEast. Entry is just $195 and the money goes to a great cause. The whole thing startts in daylight and end in darkness under track lights.

Stock headlights and some sort of muffled exhaust are required, and convertibles do need a roll bar that's taller than the driver's head.

The event is a fundraiser for the Motorsports Rehabilitation Foundation whose mission is to provide financial assistance to those who have been injured while participating in a sanctioned motorsports event.

I'm signed up to race in the sprint race. Should be tons of fun and how often do you get to race at night! Let alone do a DE?

If you've never DE'ed before, this is the event to go to. It's cheap, there's a crap ton of track time, and you get to experience something that most people don't ever get to do until well after they get their race license.

I am confused as to where I should put myself. I am pretty green to the whole racing scene with only one event attended and participated in.

I am pretty interested, even if I don't have the P10, I would flog the pants off my B14.

And do I need to become a member of IMG in order to go to this event?

If I am not a member, how much is it?

With one event under your belt I would recommend signing up for the student group. You do need to be an IMG member for the event, but they're waiving the fee for a temp membership just for the twilight event.

In case the student group is sold out though, there's another event at Pocono at the end of Sept (which I will also be racing at). If you're interested, I have a discount code for a free weekend membership. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I registered and sent my membership form in. Hopefully, I'll get confirmed sometime this week.

That was pretty cool. I've never raced at night before, so that was an entirely different experience. My headlights were definitely not good enough for the conditions, and I should have brought rain tyres, but it was still a lot of fun to get some in some racing under darkness.

Was that you in the Silver #99 Sentra SE, hammerin_hank? I didn't get a chance to do much socializing because I was helping out, but I was watching you pound around from Timing and Scoring. Looking good.

Tires...ya. Down to the nubs on mine. I was definitely being conservative.
