Default Found a source for AGM Miata Battery

Hey Gents. I've been meaning to get one of these for a while now. First things first. Fabrication or a way to keep the battery stable in the stock tray will be needed.

I remember JimR writing about using some angled metal to keep the battery still in the tray. I've got it held down with a rubber pad from Home Depot until I come up with a better way.

Ok so you can get a AGM Miata battery at Oreillys. 72 month warranty. Two years free replacement after that it's pro-rated discount on another battery.

Previously you could get this battery at Autozone under their duralast brand. The new autozone battery is not a AGM though. It is a regular sealed lead acid battery.

I weighed this thing and I"m gonna say its between 24-26 pounds. I weighed the old one and it came in at 40 pounds. NO more acid leak and my car lost 15 pounds .

It is rated at 320cca so for the cold weather guys this might not be for you. For racers and southern drivers this should be ok.

I'll post again if this battery gives me any problems.

Price on the battery is $84.99 plus $10 core charge. Hand them in a beat battery you get your 10 bucks back.

I don't think this battery is the same as the Westco as it does not have the 8AMU1R part number but whatever its 25lbs and an AGM so I'm satisfied.

Here is a link to Oreillys if any of you are interested.
