Well today was a crazy day working at Road Atlanta for NASA SE. THree tornado warning delays in one day
. Totally killed the schedule but good that it was the only thing that was messed up on the track. No tornado touched down at the trackBut in all the chaos the Lightning race was shortened. And I witnessed a black and grey se-R classed in PTE overtake a H1 S2k, and give a PTB 350Z a run for its money. I think if the race would have gone 40 minutes the SE-R might have been able to over take the Z. I 'm guessing I was the only other Se-R driver there, so Yeah I was bigging up the little sentra that could on the pits, hahaha. The Sentra went out in the first group of the Lightning Race. Final finishing order was one of the Roar Racing RX8's, PTB 350Z, PTE SE-R trailing by not much. I think maybe the wet track might have been an equalizer as far as skill goes but it was still nice to see a sentra perform that well. I'll add to the post if I can find some in car footage. Well in todays race things went back to normal. The Sentra was nowhere as close to the Z as it was on the rainy saturday. The sentra driver had better rain tires or is just a better driver in the wet. Still finished first in PTE though , which was cool.

Honda Challenge , Performance touring, and Spec Miata run in one big group.
I found the fastest laps for the race. http://www.mylaps.com/results/newResults.jsp?id=747632 350Z is number 74 Sentra is number 17 HC1 S2k is number 58 Seems like a lot of the field just did not like the rain. I'm gonna still try to get some footage on this race. The Z's fastest lap in the dry on sunday was 17 secs faster. Last edited by TrackJunky82 : 03-18-2008 at 02:12 AM. |

OH hahah My bad. I meant an S2k. Typo. Decent amount of rain. I can't remember if it was raining during the race though. Might have just had water from a previous shower.
Yeah If Greg A. was driving I"m sure he would have probably won outright. The Sentra Driver Steve Patterson was in the ARRC this past year. Amy was in front of him by a good amount. Last edited by TrackJunky82 : 03-18-2008 at 12:33 PM. |

2 secs in Q2. it would have been nice if Steve's car didn't break in the ARRC race. Were you there? I saw a couple of nice street B13's there but never saw anyone around them. |

Here's some footage of the sentra. Not in car. From a H2 Civic that was also in the race. You can see the sentra in the first minute. Then he just leaves the civic far behind.

And since we're on the topic of a sentra at road atlanta August 2007. Here's a clip of me in HPDE1 at Road atlanta. Footage is from a miata driver. Was a fun weekend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OEuLtnXd6s
