Thread: Race car weights

Can people please post up some weights of different models once stripped / caged etc....

Im looking at a particular class where the min weight is 850Kg and im looking at using a N15 VZR pulsar shell, the factory weight is 1120Kg but im not sure if i can cut 250 Kg out of it.

Any ideas?

I will be able to give you a weight of our 1995 Infiniti G20 (p10) in about a month or 2 now that we invested in proper Longacre scales.

Right now we are NOT caged and have only the front seats in the car (removed the ABS, airbags but do have a sunroof)

I think you'll struggle to get a VZR under 900kg with a cage. Unless lot of custom CF. Im planning on using a vzr in a race series in a couple of years....and what I'd lose on weight i'd overcome with power in a 1.6 class. haha

No carbon fiber allowed in that class, fiberglass is ok so was going to do bonnet, hatch fr guards and door skins etc, not looking to be under 850 but as close as possiable
