Convention Tires
I need some track tire advice from you guys. I need something that will survive the 300 miles there, the track day, the 300 miles back, and the 245ft-lb of torque they will no doubt be subjected to throughout the event.

Is this silly? should I be getting an extra set of wheels/tires to slap on for the track day, or is it realistic to drive there and back on the tires I will be running on track?

TIA, Will.

I'm going to use the autocross style Hankook Ventus RS-2 (front) and Falken Azenis (rear) tires I use for daily driving. No clue how they will do, but they should at least hold up for the highway miles. As for the track miles... They should be sort of okay I hope (considering our power/torque output). =/

Edit: I'll have a much better idea of how they will perform after I finish installing the turbo this weekend.

If you can get another set of wheels/tires it's best to do so. I have room in the trailer for an extra set. can carry for you. I am in PSL.

I have a pair of Hoosier R6's. Would those be good (2 on front, Sumi's on rear), or should I just run my Sumitomo HTRZII (full set of 4)? I don't plan on buying tires anytime soon.

Not recommended. It is safer to go with the full set of Sumi. Doing so will cause crazy oversteer, rotating to the rears will cause severe understeer, without a full set of Hoosiers. Yes they doo make that much of a difference.

I will take you up on that for sure if I find some inexpensive wheels. Thanks

Im interest too in some trackdays tires.. I can buy here Toyo R888 here or Kumho V70A, but Kumhos are much expensiver than R888.
I can get 195/50 R15 Toyo R888 set for ~500usd. Anyone know which good tire is for sale in this diameter?
I didnt found Azenis in this diameter, only 205/50 R15 and that will increase my gears.
