Default Product review: BPi Flow Stack

Well seeing that we don't have one of these.. I decided to start a way for members to get some information on products that we use on our cars. This review in general has to do with BPi's Flow Stack.

Ordered this from some word of mouth on the forums. Seeing that I needed a new intake filter system for my CAI. I started a thread about looking for interest in some new idea's. From this thread I was told about BPi Flow Stack. So I decided to take it for a ride and see how well it works. I will be updating this information as I go along. Anyone with information that is using this product, please add any information that you have. Hope this information helps out someone.

Pics:

Edit: This should be a compatible Filter: Item #: R1227

Great idea!

I think we should get a whole new section that says "Product Reviews"

Let us know how the BPi flow stack feels

^ i agree with the product review section, i think the general section has been housing alot of product reviews thoughts or input, a product review section would keep all the, thoughts, reviews and whatnot in sequence so you can find them more readily...

also would be interested in knowing how it feels!

Looks like a plastic pop charger stack to me .
It would be nice if they had a 2.5" to fit the B13 AEM CAI .I would like to have one on the end.
I agree about having a product reviews section...I have a short shifter post started like this.
There is a p.reviews on FLSR20s website...I think it is a great Idea!!

I'm fairly tempted to get this and compare them side by site to the JWT pop charger.

I know this is hard to notice, but I like the transition of the inside on the BPi Stack more, it looks smoother and not as sharply cut off.

(BTW this is last years picture with the previous owners glory all over the car. A new battery has been in place with clean terminals for a while )

Thanks Ricer_X_01

I've been looking at that thread ever since you posted it in the other BPi thread.

I am also looking at this quote:

Just an FYI, the guys over on TwinTurbo.net hooked up several popular filters to a flow bench, and determined that out of all of the filters, the cheap $15 filter from ebay flowed the best. However....flow is not everything...The ebay filter mostly likely had the poorest filtering properties out of all of them. So it doesn't surprise me that the cheap ebay filter may result in more HP, however a difference of +/- 1hp doesn't really say much to me, you can have a larger difference then that between two back to back dyno runs without making any changes.

That is very true, I'm hoping Calum did at least 3 dyno runs each.

But still the gains of 7whp is quite a bit...

Just snag yourself a 2.5" to 3" reducer coupler and bang bang you can use it You can snag that for like 8 bones.

a 7 hp gain by slapping this is on is impressive. you spend way more $$$ just on pullies and the gains arent much. i had a stack (from pepboys) slap it on and felt a difference SOTP....but later on i took it off and lost it while moving

It's probably a waste of your money to buy that one as well just to see if you can tell the difference. The truth is that there is almost certainly a small difference, but it's going to be so small you won't be able to tell. Really the only way to tell would be to flow them both and determine the loss coefficient for each I think. To me it looks like the JWT might work better just because I'm sure the aluminum has a smaller surface roughness than the plastic. But again, I'm sure they each do about the same job as far as your actual car performance is concerned.

i believe the owner of bpi, bryan pendleton, stated somewhere that the blox is a direct knock off of his. i think thats why his have come down in price.

Ding ding! You win!

Hell Blox could not even write their own discriptions on their website, they plagarized our verbage word for word of our old website. I lost all respect for that company after that.

Questions feel free to give me a holler at bryan@bpinitiatives.com

I am working on some smaller stacks such as 2.5" and 2.75". Though what we actually get tooling for will depend largely on market demand, so if you would like to see a specific size made, send us an email. We are listening.

Thanks for all the support.

Welcome to the forum Bryan!

I Always love to see actual companies contributing to threads

Man I am fairly interested in picking one up, it's just I need to find the MAF adapter that will work better then what I used in the past, right now my JWT Stack bolts up directly the the MAF.
