KYB GR2 shocks/struts.
Got a nice deal on eBay - $205 with free shipping for a set of KYB GR2's.
What a deal.

The original idea was to go with lowering springs and AGX's, but i couldn't find a 'moderate' lowering spring with a good rate, and wasn't up to the task of trying to find hyperco gen 1's..

So i put these babies on today, also replacing the original spring pads, shock/strut mounts, and bearings, which were all totally torn up and dry!

And i must say; not bad! The car feels like it has no body roll compared to the OEM shocks! Just as tight as my BMW e36 when i had H&R springs ( 1in. drop ) + koni shocks/struts. I am very impressed and did not expect such good results. At the same time, it soaks up broken pavement better. But it's no Buick. IMHO... a fine balance between 'kickass corner carver' and 'girlfriend transport'

GR2's are a good deal, even if you pay more for them than i did. If you're looking for a moderate impreovement over stock operation, this is it.

Interesting, I'm heavily considering them for the P11 .

Though I do like the idea of the adjust-ability on the AGX's.

Good deal! I got the rears off amazon with free shipping for $116 a few weeks back. I may end up buying fronts as well, I just hate to replace the "newer" ones there now. The previous owner put on some blue struts, not sure if their monroes or not.
Anyhow, im getting ready to try some ground control coil overs with them. Im not cutting the perches or anything just in case I dont like the spring rate and end up going back to stock.
One question, what bump stop or shock boot/bellow did you use? Im still waiting on KYB SB103's to arrive, should be any day now. Figured i'd ask now... thanks.

NX2k, you're absolutely gonna need fronts, they do all the work on these front-heavy cars, lol. The front struts are like 50% bigger!

I used the cheaper KYB boots. They fit just fine. You just have to force them on. And the bottom of the bellow needs to be forced over the bottom of where the shock piston comes out also, BTW. It's hard to get it over, but if you don't, the shock boot will crack and not do a very good job of protecting dust from coming in, let's say

I thought about the AGX's very heavily, but they cost over twice as much, and honestly.. this is not my dream car and i'm not interested in investing that much into it.

So did I, the AGX's are nice but if your not track driving then GR2's should be fine. Im not going to be adjusting them for daily use so im saving the money for mods.

I just found a crazy deal on front GR2's on amazon. $57 from amazon with free shipping for both! I may go ahead and get them cause what Neptronix said makes sense. I can already feel some front end sway but thought the leaking rears were causing that. But for $57 I should just go ahead and get them. Plus I can jack the car up and do them all at one time! Nice

Edit: I had the front right(KYB 234048) and left(KYB 234049) in my amazon shopping cart, left them in there while debating on actually ordering. The price dropped, which im guessing is a way to get the buyer to "pop" on the order and pay. Total for both $55 shipped, they will be in 5-9 days I popped on 'em...LOL. I cant wait to install them!

I've had GR2's on my car for a LONG time now, and love them. The ride is exactly how I want it. I'm not doing any type of high speed turning or anything, BUT paired together with the cheap suspension techniques springs, I'm pulling 1.6 60fts at the drag strip.

my car has GR-2's and hypercoils and i TOTALLY love them....i agree with the idea that not needing adjustment for my DD they're PERFECT! i do alot of backroad carving and my setup leaves my buddies 350z in the dust! LOL
