water in cabin, 93 nx
so, i guess shes starting to get some age on her now.....and its showing. I seem to remember reading a bunch of threads about how sometimes water comes through the firewall area. im in the process of removing my dash, and everything else in the way (anyways, doing some other work) which is how i noticed the water behind it, coming down, and filling the floorboard. anybody have any pointers? while i remember the discusion topic, ive never had to deal with this before, so it didnt really stick in my head the are that usually failed/clogged, and the procedure to fixing it. im going to check the rain gutter tray for leaves and junk, just figured id ask while i was working if people had any input. water coming in heavily from the firewall area.

leaky heater core will usually leak on the passengers side under the dash.
Also check your ttop drains the tubes go down the apillar into the kickpanels area.

windsheild leaking maybe? You would have to pull the whole dash to see that most likely.
Oh....the joys of egg ownership.LOL

eggman pretty much covered it all...but if it leaks only during rain I would guess the windshield RTV has erroded away. Maybe ask a local glass/windshield company what they would charge to pull and reseal it...but since you're already removing dash stuff you'll probably find it. Should be pretty obvious...scrape it clean as best you can, maybe clean it with some acetone, then squirt some black RTV up in it?

i don't think the rtv will bond with the window sealant....not %100 on that but i swear i remember being told that

You may not need to remove the dash. I've had two B13 leak onto the pass. floor and it was a TSB both times. You have to go and pull the plastic wiper cowling off a B13 that's been repaired. There's this huge hole on the pass side where the fan draws air and there's a plate that goes over it to keep the water out. You have to get the plate and install it with some gasket schmoo to seal things up.

yeah, i still havent gotten around to it......working on cars allday means i dont get much time for mine these days. but, yes, its that door thats leaking. no other issues witht he car besides that. ive been doing a WHOLE bunch of stuff to it in the past couple of weeks, getting it ready for summer again, this is on the list of asap repairs. easy enough repair. i have another parts car im going to take a look at, and see if the door is good. it will just be nice to eliminate the water from the cabin.
