Best IC?
I seems like there is limited space to run an IC on an NX. I have been throwing around the idea of a Water to air set up, but am still thinking on regular air to air. Any ideas? If I run the standard air to air, whats the best size to get. Thanks guys!

It all depends on your preference, I'm looking at the same thing right now, I'm turboing my NX this winter, I see alot of guys run a anywhere from 20-28 inch in length, 6-7 inches tall, and anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 inches thick.

I've been searching this very thing for the past few days, I'm struggling with the fact of getting rid of my Fog's, i'll be using a CX racing intercooler piping kit. Precision makes a good I/C from what I know falls in the specs listed above and is rated for 350 whp. I'm still looking it up as well as, if you find anything feel free to post it. Always use the search button, I'll compile anything interesting I find.

i put mine between the radiator and bumper support....went with a kinda square intercooler with 3" in/out.
it's not perfect...i get some heat soak from the intercooler to the radiator so it spikes my temps when i'm in boost heavy....gonna add a mishimoto soon to battle that.

the main reason for doing this other than short piping is i WAS NOT losing my fogs

cut the core support next to the radiator to run the piping around the radiator....i have less than 6 feet of intercooler piping

Could always do a side mount in fender well with ducting or even in the rear bumper if wanted.

I ran an HKS intercooler similar to Boomstick there on my brother's NX and ran IC pipes through two holes we popped in the core support as he did. It worked well, but there wasn't a ton of airflow and the cooling system didn't keep up as well so we had to go to a large Koyo with one large 14" fan (turbo didn't allow two fans to fit).

I recommend A2W on the NX for the airflow reasons mentioned. You know I love a2w though.

What is your W2A set up on there. Looks like I can put a kit together for around $400.

Damn never realized how tight it is in the nx for a intercooler, you would have to cut a huge hole in the bumper to fight heat soak. I do like the idea of the air to water intercooler less intercooler piping=less lag seems like a win/win scenario to me.

im not sure where the fitment isues you guys are running into stem from.....i have something like a 3 inch intercooler in my car, MAYBE 2.5 inch, id have to go and double check. if i get time, ill pull my bumper back off, get a shot for you. i found using one of the intercooler pipes off of a factory 740 turbo, i could take 4 of these identical 90 degree bends, use the hole for the intake box, and the winshield washer resevoir, and slot/notch my inner bumper support so that i could run the pipes THROUGH the bumper support. i cut the support away after the foglights so i could stuff the intercooler up inside the bumper, between the foglights. all in all, it works PERFECT, you guys could copy it and be very happy with the results. i think the volvo pipes are 2.25 inch diameter, and i didnt cut em at all, basicly bolted up. very clear results. you do end up having to take the buckets out of the turn signals, because the pipe goes DIRECTLY behind them, and theres no room for the buckets. solution? advanced auto led strips for turn signals. like i said, works good, and the results are great.

also, i retained all ac, powersteering, ect. ill probably have to make some vents in the front bumper for more COOLING and airflow, but im resisting for now....maybe try a koyo radiator. but airflow is the issue.

this winter i plan on upgrading to a better radiator and fan or fans if possible...also gonna cut away some of the bumper support to slightly "V" mount it.
the thing for me was keeping the exterior as stock as possible...fog lights and the washer bottle have to stay...and as sleeper as an NX can be....lol....pretty sure the forum plate frame and huge deep sticker most can tell something up...haha
