Thread: what to look for in a used nx (update with pics)

so I'm going to look at a nx tomorrow,it has a blown engine with some goodies. what I'm asking for is what exactly to look for chassis wise, i searched for a good 10 min and even tried google found nothing.
he says the body just a has a bit of surface rust on the rr wheel arch

what i know to look for per my old rusted nx

rear strut tower rust
a-pillar rust in the door area

anything else?, thats what really killed mine

i plan on just dropping it right off at the body shop i used to work at to have it painted since i don't have time to do it on my own. then it'll give me time to source the parts for the build

Door jambs. If you can pull the fenders off and look behind the fenders, floor pans and trunk pan from top and bottom. Under the sides of back bumper behind the rear wells.

t tops seal correctly
rocker arm rust

and the other stuff you would normally look at when buying a used car

Oh and be sure to peak behind the side skirts if there are any.

thanks guys, I'm hoping this ones in good shape, i miss mine so much, the price is right, and with the parts that i can sell off i should be able to basically get the car for free =]

went to look at it today, put some money down for a hold, picking it up soon





just a little rust on the rr quarter, but none on strut towers, rockers, didn't look behind the fenders, but the body is in great shape, just paint fade, check it out, so excited to pick it up next week or so

What wheels are those? They look like Konig Heliums.

I'm not sure, i looked at them, all i could see was "mono block" and "Ultra light" on them

I bet they're heliums. 15's at around 12lbs I think. A friend of mine had them a long time ago.
