Looking for an egg, suggestions?
Best years, problem areas to be wary of, etc...

theres really not a lot of differences in the 3 years they were made. 5th gear popout is about the only major thing i can think of that the nx will be prone to. swap in a b15/p11 tranny and problem solved.

well 90-92 models were two tone stripped while the 93s were color keyed.

If you are anywhere near Sacramento theres one for $750 on craigslist that sounds promising.

Seems like lots of 93's have power package and ABS if you like that. To me the best NX to have would be a 91 or 92 hardtop with no power package and no ABS. Lots of (all?) 93's have lighter color interior and softer seat material I dont like. The tach and speedo are opposite in 93's and have uglier looking font in my opinion. I also like the look of the grey trim 91/92 body vs the 93 color matching trim.

Watch for rust in the rear strut towers.

strut tower rust is pretty common these days, also door jambs, right under the fender, where the t top drip rails are can rust. The rails will clog if the owner doesnt wash/clean their car.....common cause is dead leaves. ALSO, dead leaves have a tendency on any b13/p10 to get caught at the BOTTOM of the front fenders and cause serious rot. I personally HATE the idiots who jack the cars up in stupid places.....look for pinch weld damage, and along the underside of the car. Rednecks tend to think all cars have full frames.....this is a subframe car, ONLY jack up on the intended points, and really, even those get weak with age. Use suspension mount points for raising and lowering the car. Yeah, abs is kinda lame in b13s.....im going to delete mine.

akso always check under the valve cover for sludge. common problem.....average folks consider these disposable cars. usually not very religious with oil changes.

Watch for leaky T-tops if you can, those are no fun. Check the "A" pillars by the mirrors for cancer too.

As was mentioned, rust. That and it's a 20 year old car. Expect to replace just about everything, if it wasn't done already.....other than that, you're good.

If you want a hardtop, check out the NX1600s as well.
