this was funny..
So today I was fooling around and went to hit the launch control and nothin happens it just keeps revving.. so then later I tried again an it worked.. then I got home an it didn't.. eventually I figured out that I have a working neutral position switch! And That LC only works in gear! Lol!!
I've had 3-4 trans in my car but that sensor has never worked I guess until I put this last trans in lol..

Anyway thought I'd share a laugh

makes me wonder if my neutral position switch does not work because LC works all the time for me.... I think.... now I gotta go check... thanks.

Ya dude that trans was in my car and nates and the lc activated in neutral.. Which I actually prefer.. but that's ok.. as long as I know it's suppose to be this way I'm ok with it..

This was one of the many product design decisions that were made when developing TunerCodeSA. There are a few reasons why it was done this way (launch limit active only when in gear). If any of you were designing it, what decision would you have made and why.

Damn, my switch must be inoperable then. But I like it better this way, since when I park my car in a shady neighbourhood, I usually set the launch control at 1500rpm. This makes the car impossible to steal, as it will stall immediately

OnTheChip, would it be possible to set LC even lower? Like 1000rpm? To make for a foolproof theft deterrent

It wouldn't matter in that case as the thief would have to put the car in gear to steal it anyway.

1500rpm is the minimum because of scaling the TPS to RPM conversion.

What are you doing in a "shady neighborhood" anyway?

Honestly I think there should be a tick box for if you want it to operate out of gear also.. I prefer not to rev my engine very high with no load on it..

Use the throttle pedal (aka gas pedal) to control the no-load RPM.

Haha but what if I wanna sit behind people at stop lights an just sit on the limiter? :P

It don't really matter tho.
