How to: Logging
John,

Can you list a "How to" for us. This is a basic chipped ecu with Nismotronic/Tunercode. Sometimes i can get it to work and other times i can't and i always forget what i did to make it work. Most common issue is I record a log and it wont let me save (not highlighted). You also must save the log before you can save in .CSV format correct?

There is a option to autosave the log, in which case it saves automatically to the folder specified in the options when you stop recording.

Sometimes i feel like there should almost be a different mode for reviewing logs, so you tune, record a run, then click onto a different screen that has the data laid out how you want to see the logs, as opposed to how you see things as you are tuning on the fly.

John is making me work hard for this one lol. Not much in the help while in Nismotronic. I knew i seen it before and i found the better HELP pdf's on his fttp site (login required) where he has the program available for download.

What i was doing was recording the log and then stopping it. Then trying to save the log. This is were i went wrong. You must save while recording the log.

1. Connect to ECU
2. Hit "Record" to start recording
3. Do not stop recording, Just save the log

I have a feeling that you are using the ST version of the software which hasn't been updated in well over a year.

You shouldn't have to just save the log without stopping the recording.

Almost all of this is covered on the website in the support videos section.

Also, I just updated the ST version.. when starting/stopp recording it is best to use the record and play/pause buttons on the main window and NOT the menu.

But give the new version a shot .. this is a rather old version of the software that I no longer support.

ok, well it still wont log

It used to work fine last fall. I am using the updated version also.

When i go to save log, it says " No log loaded"??? I tried to save while recording and after stopping the recording.

The pdf off your site says to connect, start recording and when your done go and save the log. It doesnt even say to stop recording??

TunerPro logs fine and is much easier. It asks you to save your log automatically, when you stop recording.

Again, you are on the super old version of the software that I really haven't touched in a long time but I am going to try to get this sorted out for you as soon as I can.

It is implied that you would stop recording before trying to save the file, but maybe I should add that in there.

Hopefully I can get an update for you tonight!

Are you doing this from the graphing screen?

There is a check for "recorded" data when you click "Save Log" and if there isn't any data recorded it will give you no log data found.

So it seems that maybe you might have a record trigger set high or something like that?

You can tell if you have data that is ready to be saved by opening the graphing window .. if there isn't any data on the graph then it isn't actually recording.

How to: Logging
Ok thanks John.

Somehow my triggers got all back to "0". This must be my issue. One of these must be set, in order to start logging right? Usually triggers are for automatic logging. I do recal setting them though. That must be why I was able to log fine before. I will try it out tomorrow

Actually, with it being 0 it should still work ok.

I will try this today on my personal car and see what I can find out.

John, got it to work!

All i did was delete the Pref file under the main directory. I then set up NismoTronic how i like and BAM, logs fine. I can save right to .CSV

Excellent!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
