Nismotronic in Pulsar GTI-R
Hello everyone,

Is there anybody successfully running Pulsar with Nismotronic and Tunercode firmware?

I have 94y Pulsar with JDM ecu & sr20det engine and ordered Nismotronic RT to get maximum from stock engine. (current mods are 3" exhaust, fmic only, walbro and fpr)

First of all, installed NEMU into original ecu (94y) and was able to start car, log everything but with very reach Idle. Have been trying with John help different TCDs, searching for any reason which could leave to bad IDLE and nothing found.. Doesnt matter what rom I used and what inj size I put, result was same - AFR from 7.8 to 7.9 max.

Then, followed John advice to try common b13 ECU. Cause I dont have any Sentra in my country , the nearest suitable ecu was taken from Sunny GTI (EU model of pulsar with 110kw engine, fwd) and installed into Pulsar.

It was bolt-on solution, but when I connected it with NEMU, tried to start engine - got same result as with original ecu, no good IDLE, car is running reach again and struggling also...

After every 3rd attempt I have to dry spark plugs and dry cylindres, cause it is impossible to get correct Idle while changing settings, those do not affect on IDLE.

Has anybody encountered same troubles with Pulsar/any other car?
It looks very similar to limp mode I think, cause I have stock maf, stock O2 ... and still not possible to get car idling at least.

regards, Pavel

Here are some photos of ecu being used with pulsar currently (91y Sunny GTI) :

I am using one in a pulsar. I am having real good results and good control. Have you checked the jumper on the back of the ecu. if it is not soldered properly this can happen.

Can you share your TCD you are using on Pulsar?

Jumper is ok on both sr20det and sr20de ecus.

I used the stock sr20de tcd file. what size injectors and which maf are you using. do u have an adjustable fuel regulator on it.

I have also tried base b13sr20de bin, changing inj size to 440cc as Pulsar has - result was same as I would use u13sr20det tcd from the beginning.

While generating new TCD I have always used u13sr20det MAF, inj 440cc and latency set to 0.77 ? Is it ok ?

Is u13sr20det equal to Pulsar ecu ?

Pulsar has got Malpassi FPR (rising rate, on idle 3bar , on warmup ca 3.5bar, while boosting up to 4.- 4.5bars)
Stock Maf, 440cc inj, Innovate AFR gauge and 3"exhaust.

Here is photo of soldered CJ2 jumper

U13 maf is different. latency is fine. b13 bin is the way to go. It very close to the gtir ecu. A few things are different but should work. Is this a swap or is this an authentic gtir. Gtir are low impedance injectors Make sure it has a resister box. Another thing you can try is leave the stock maf value and unplug your maf. The car should idle with just the injector change. If this happens then you can have 2 things bad a maf or the maf table is incorrect.

2 things to try for injector in the nismotronic
1. set the injector value see if the car leans up.
2. set the k value to 26619 this is the stock k value for the gtir. when you do this leave the injector change to stock. see how close you come to stoich or commanded lambda 1
Technically the car should fire right up and idle fine with just these changes. try with or without the maf plugged in.
