Hi from Canberra
Hey, my names Blake. I've got an E30 that I'm in the early planning stages of putting sr20ve into. Looking for some advice and information

Sounds interesting. Welcome to the forum. What are your power goals and intentions for the car?

Power I'd like 180-200whp... it'll be my daily but it will be set up to drive the twisties through the mountains!

Welcome, Blake.

You can reach those goals by simple bolt ons. The largest problem could be the possible massaging that would be required for either VVL solenoids or the distributor placement since they will be right against the firewall. Been over a decade since I have seen an E30 engine bay up close so I really have zero recollection on the room situation on that chassis.

I know ditching the BMW engine for a Nissan SR20 is a great start to this fun-sounding project.

Kyle, That's what i though and why i'm only aiming for that kind of power for the moment. The engine will have a Spool Import forged bottom end but only because the engine i'm looking at needs a rebuild. So i'll raise the compression while i'm at it and the plan is exhaust and ITB's with a good tune....

As for the fit... There will need to be some massaging to fit the distributor but ive got some creative mates who probably have some good ideas on making it fit.. But other than that theres plenty of room!

The BMW engine in my car currently is a bit uninspiring so im looking forward to doing something abit more fun.

Is the wiring for a Ve similar enough to a det that I could buy an e30 sr20det conversion wiring harness and use that or would it be too butchered to be useful?
