SR B11 datsun sunny
Hi guys, thought id officially join the forum instead of lurking, as Im in need of some help if anyone can offer any

This is my 82 datsun sunny, powered by a UK spec p11 GT sr20...

pictures are limited, as this hasn't been in my good books, its been nothing but hassle.

After the wiring was sorted, and nats2 deleted from the ECU it finally ran, and it ran well, started on the button, idled well...nothing out the ordinary. But 2 weeks down the line when i finally got it MOT'd, and took it out for a drive, i stalled it and it hasn't started since. We checked everything, I hoped it was a simple wire knocked loose. but it was pumping fuel fine, and sparking. Took it back to the garage that helped me get it running, and we think nats has come back to bite me. (still unsure how its ran fine in the space of 2 weeks though?!?)

so Im looking at casting out the p11 GT ecu. Anyone on here had any experience with this engine, will an ecu from a g20 / almera gti / p10egt work with my engine, bear in mind my wiring is as simple as it gets being a datsun, and all I need are the vital sensors connected from the p11 loom, and I know the pinouts will maybe need changing. In my head theres no reason it wont work ? But I was just looking for some comforting words / conformation

As long as the ECU you get is designed for your MAF, CAS, ignition setup (single coil) and compression ratio you should be all set I think.

thanks for the approval !
Thats what I was thinking, just wanted conformation - as im a bit of a monkey with this, no idea ha !

Was also reading an old post by vadim, perhaps a g20 ecu would be the best, as you guys in the US weren't graced with nats as far as ive read... lucky !

I've never even heard of NATS, so likely we don't have it in the US on SR20 ECUs. Some sort of immobilizer/anti-theft tech?

its short for NISSAN ANTI THEFT SYSTEM, its pretty much an immobilizer yes, but nissan have pretty much made it impossible to get around, from what I have read

2000 and up 32bit ecu's have nats except some of the SE-R 6 speed cars without ABS. I just rip one of the chips out of the key and glue it to the nats receiver so I don't need chipped keys anymore.

We only have "gnats" in the US.
