Need opinions on new headers
First off, I have to post this thread here as I do not have enough posts to make a thread in the correct forum. Anyway, I need some opinions from people who have any experience with a couple headers that I am considering. The first is a header from OBX, and the second is from KOSpeed off of ebay. I have a 2.5" SS mandrel bent catback with a 18" magnaflow resonator and a magnaflow muffler awaiting the new headers to be installed. These will be going on a 95 200sx SE-R. If anyone has had any experience with any of these two headers advice and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well get the one with matching collector for your exhaust, is what I think. Only if Hotshot and ABES where still in business. Before I went boost I had a Topspeed header. I'd go with the first choice.

The KOSpeed has a 2.5" outlet. The OBX one I'm not sure as it does not say, I did some research from people who have used the OBX and one guy said it was made in a 2.25" outlet. Also I read that the OBX has an issue with the EGR not fitting properly and it needs slight adjustment. Is this an easy fix? My friend just wants me to get a turbo manifold instead of a header since I am going boost in the future and he'll weld the rest together, but I'm probably not going to do that because I'm not going boost for awhile anyway. The OBX seems like it is good quality but I wanted to see if anybody has had any experience with the KOSpeed one.

The KO is a generic SSAC knockoff.

I had an OBX on my 98' and yeah it has a 2 1/4 outlet. Power gains were awesome.

Mostly, if not all of these headers from eBay will have the egr fitment issue. Another thing I'll add is the Ssac knockoff headers will leak (slight tick) even when the egr pipe is in. The only way to prevent it is a gasket or block it off.

But you can't beat the price.

The 2.25" outlet on the OBX would fit up to a 2.5" inlet on a cat by using a flange correct? The outer diameters would be the same but inside it would just be going from a smaller to bigger inner diameter. I can't think straight this late lol.

Beeboi, did your OBX headers have the egr issue? If so was it an easy fix? I am most likely going to buy these, I've read good reviews about them.

John, I would love to but I am probably not going boost for about another year or so lol when I get the money rounded up. Thanks for the offer though.

Disconnect the egr tube from the egr valve. Remove mani with egr tube still connected, then when installing the header put egr tube on the header u might have to manipulate the tube back into egr valve. Hope this helps.

U running any cams, ecu, or intake?

Nope, engine is completely stock at the moment. My manifold has a couple holes in it and the rest of the exhaust is rusted so it needs replaced badly. I do have a G20 ecu laying around my house somewhere though.

Thanks for those instructions too, sounds easy enough!

U got a 91 intake cam laying around too? With the cam G20 ecu and boltons I ran a 14.8 1/4 @ 99 mph.

Nope, just have the ecu. It came off an automatic I believe, my car is a manual though.

With the OBX having a 2.25 outlet how would I bolt that up to the rest of the exhaust which is 2.5? I can't find a cat with a 2.25 inlet/2.5 outlet. I was going to buy a universal 2.5 magnaflow cat.

But that's not too bad, my car won't even go above 85mph at the moment. :/
