reputable engine swap shop near NM
So I am looking into getting my stock motor swapped out. I would want to do the T28 setup. But I don't know of any shops that do it. So I am looking for some input on reputable shops that know what they are doing. I am willing to drive the car to AZ, CO, TX and maybe California. I can't do the swap myself.

Pretty much, I want a reliable motor and I want it all done right. So I am willing to pay to guarantee a quality swap with a quality inspected motor. The car is a B13 SE-R.

I would expect Boost, oil, and wideband O2 gauges. And must have working A/C.

Thanks again.

So your looking for a shop to swap in a DET motor? You can't find anyone in NM and your willing to drive? Going all the way to CA seems like one hell of a drive lol. Maybe you need to look harder where you live?

Not too sure but I think there are a few in AZ that could do it... You should have more luck in this section of the forum. If Ashton wasn't out of the country I'm sure he could hook u up

Yeah, ive done a couple B13's with AC, if i wasnt out of country I would definitely of hooked you up.

Its really not that hard to do with all the options out there for setups, engine management, and so on. If you wanted a de with the higher compression and more response and power on lower boost levels, or if you wanted the slightly safer lower compression det, change out rod bearings, and go from there. Soo many options and you never specified a price range your looking for. Ive done simple engine swaps plus boost setups for about $800 in labor. But for what your looking for to keep a/c and have everything taken care of and less likely to have issues down the road probably more in the 1200-1500 labor range.

Ive done full removal, full engine build, and reinstallation and tune on an s14 det powered s13 and charged 900.00, but again the wiring of the car was already done for the most part except for a couple wires that were jacked up and had to redo. Ive done tons of swaps, boost setups, hybrid swaps, ve swaps, honda builds, and so on. Tons of experience under my belt.

One thing to understand is that boost setups are very very difficult to be super reliable. There are just soo many things that can and more than likely will go wrong. Clutch, used turbos blowing up, stupid things like exhaust gaskets and other dumb stuff.

I would really do your research on what your looking for, because like that, if your car doesnt have aftermarket motor mounts, i would do it, clutch upgrade, fuel pump upgrade, all new vac hoses, lines, and so on. Most basic setups on here are dealing with now 20 year old parts on them, turbos, injectors, and so on. Its reliablitity is long up. lol

Does the car still have the following?

JWT S4 Cams
JWT ECU
JWT Intake w/ Injen WAI Tube
Hot Shot Header
HKS Exhaust
Outlaw Engineering Throttle Body and Intake Plenum Spacers
Unorthodox light weight crank and water pump pulleys

Why not do a compression test and if it looks good, just boost what you got? I think the S4's are a good cam for boost and you can have a new tune installed on the ECU for boost.
