WI:Please help....lost shims
Just bought a 97 200sx w/ a redtop sr20 turbo motor.....the problem is two of the rocker arms popped off and only 1 out of 4 shims found.....anyone ever experienced this problem?? If u live in WI i will pay u to help me find the shims n fix this problem....thanks

Oh, yes, totally forgot about that in my PM reply to you. They could fly down the timing cover and end up in the pan.

thanks guys....i will try to remove the oil pan 2day....is this pretty hard to do?

Not really just use you time after unbolting it to get the sealant off. You might want to get a metal putty spreader from Home depot. Works good. And a wire brush helps to get off all the sealant. Just keep all your screws together.

And to re-seal just use black RTV just make sure both surfaces are really clean.

is it possible for the three shims to get eaten up? cuz i found some metal scraps in the oil after draining it and if i can't find em could i just replace the shims n do oil changes more frequently to get all the rest of the scraps out?? also if the car was tuned prior to the problem, do i need a re-tune after fixing the problem??

Wi:need Someone W/ Experience To Come Fix My 97 200sx
2 rocker arms popped off by previous owner and only 1 of the 4 shims found......car still starts up w/out the two rockers but has a rough idle and a lil rattling noise.....someone mentioned thats bcuz its only running on two cylinders??? don't have any experience in this.....if anyone has run into this problem n can help me fix it i will pay u....lmk ur price n when u could do it.....really need the car running asap n don't have a lot of time to fix it.

I would quit starting the car because you can/will do more damage.
