Default The "JDM Whip" (Honda Alert!)

First a B13 (so much fun), then an S13 (never more than brakes), now, I have turned to the 'dark side'...

At least it's not an EG.

1989 Civic Si (lightest Si made @ 2150 lbs wet + loaded )
144k miles w/ no grinds in tranny

First mods will be:

Rebuilt brakes + Hawk HPS pads in the front
OTS Koni Yellows and 400/450 rate GCs
ST rear adjustable sway
Prothane motor mount inserts
Good street class tires

I'll be trying my hand at STS in this little beauty (SCCA SoloII). Should be some good fun.

Not unlike the B13 eh?

I've always sort of wanted a hatch like that myself. Actually I wanted a CRX more for some reason even though they aren't so great haha.

So the 89's are lighter then the 88's huh? I never knew that.

How is it so mint? I would never expect a car from maine to be in that kind of condition after 19 years.

Edit: I saw the palm trees in the pics. Florida car.

I'd probably stake some money it's an EF, as an EG has the rounded hatch made from 92-95.

From his Link:

Good ol' D16a6. I had an '88 DX with a d15b bottom end with a d16z6 head and PM9 pistons. Shaved the head and added a bc stage 3 cam with springs and retainers. CAI + D16y8 intake + 4-2-1 header and a test pipe = screaming 14.8 1/4 mile.. It was all ~450 to get there too.

Get traction bars, and a new trans mount. Fill the trans mount and rear engine mount. You'll be much better, trust me.

Thanks for all the kind words.

The 88s are lighter, however, there was no Si in 1988. 1989 was the first year of the 3 door Si.

The car is astonishingly clean, and VERY easy to work on. EGs really are superior in almost every aspect, but I love this little EF. The hatch spoiler and the mudflaps get my heart going every time, lol.

And yes, the SER is great because of it's weight, but I don't know many SERs under 2000 lbs with full interior.

I'm working on a tshirt design that I want to wear to car meets. It's going to say "WHY?" on the front, with the H as a honda symbol, and on the back it's going to have a detailed suspension diagram of the rear double-wishbone suspension.
