Good deal. Are poor b13s have bad transfer response. Your same setup in a hatchback would have put you past the blazer. I use to compete in SQ for iasca and usac and went to world finals many times. I hat 144 spl with one image dynamics IDmax 15. I was running mcintosh amps. Still have the amps.

I'm not so sure you had an Id Max 15 they arent in prodction yet. Those amps are worth a lot when i was into that stuff. what meter was at the competition and was it at the kick or in the dash? That guy with 6 10"s was probably runing not so good subs and amps. For added spl look to take the speakers out of your back deck and get a box that is ported and built to specs.(looks to be a sealed box) Just some suggestions for you, I was heavy into this before but moved onto another money pit, the sentra.

Beleive it or not bro i had many many pre-production products from image. The shop i worked for did alot of tests for image. I was in very good with Erci the owner. I actually got to sit in many many times the great Richard Clarks buick GN. Ask any insiders there has been non labled ID maxes out for over 10 years...they cant seem to get the umph they want out of them. I also had pre-production diamond audio when it was made my a german company called ETON. I had the second set in the country of ID third octave eq too. The system i had was strictly sq with ID horns and all Mac amps. We took the dynaaudio 12 i had in the car out and put in the id max just so i could try to squeeze out a couple extra points. I only got second so no biggy. The other speaks i used in that setup were the horns..i took them out and went ot much sweeter scan speak 3 1/2 inch silk dome tweet paired with dyanaudio 8 inch mid base in the kick panels.

All of this was hooked up through hand built crossovers with the best crossover componets money could buy..(at the time) that were set at 18 db slopes. The head unit was the baddest of the bad..the old alpine 7909 with the circut board taken out so i could elimanate the the rca inputs. In its place was hand soldered with silver solder a three foot piece of audioquest pure silver cable that was 500 bucks a yard with custom made rca plugs to go into one of the mac amps that was hidden in the console. Like i said sq only.

The question about the meter for spl i have no idea what they used. The mic was in the floor. It was the standard meter they used at world finals in KC the couple years i got invited to go. This would have been late 90s btw.
