"THE" Ultimate Exhaust Thread
Ok guys, hopefully this will get stickied. I can't promise it will be as comprehensive as ShawnB's suspension thread, but I will do what I can as I have time to continually update and add to it.
Since we already have threads to help compile all our info for Brakes,Tires, and Suspension...its time to do one for Exhaust....quiet or not.
I am constantly seeing exhaust posts and if you search, there is some great info. This should be really helpful eventually for anyone building a custom exhaust for any use, street or track, loud or quiet.
I will start out by posting some of my setups over the years to get the ball rolling.
I will also try to move links over here as I have time. Please feel free to help make me aware of any threads with pics or whatever.

Post as much info as possible, and it may help people reasearching...for example
-Engine,and basic setup(DE,DET,VE,etc)
-Chassis(B13,NX,P10,etc)
-Piping size
-Part # s
-pricing
-sound clips/video

Heres a start...
-SR20VE,stock cams,ASP budget header(no cat)
-NX
-3" VRS piping kit
-Magnaflow 5" round(x2)
-Vibrant flat black muffler

You can fit 2 of them 5" magnaflows back to back without a cat if you weld them together close enough. Here are some pics with a Vibrant muffler on a nx.

Vid/sound clip of WOT from a stop from outside car.

3rd gear 50mph roll in car windows down.

in car, windows down(0-100mph) no video, sound only on closed course

Heres another of my creations on a DE,muahaha

-SR20DE ,stock cammed,2.5 SSAC/Ebay header
-B13
-2.5 piping from Megan catback
-Vibrant ultra-quiet resonator after the cat
-Re-used Megan resonator,installed behind Vibrant
-Vibrant flat black muffler

With some minor massaging of the tunnel with a hammer, you can fit a Vibrant ultraquiet resonator under there after the cat.I also remove a small section of heatshield but the part over the cat remains.
I did this by hacking up a Megan catback that was on the car already.I reused the piping and moved the existing megan resonator back behind the vibrant and added a Vibrant muffler to get the Megan fartcan off there.
Sounds real nice,this a a 2.5 though.

It started out like this,yuk

Some threads I found worth a read

Heres a great how-to thread for side exit exhaust, just hangs a little low.

-----------I will edit this as I have time.It will take a while to collect info.Like I said, anyone who want to contribute will be greatly appreciated.----

Mike Kojima and the guys over at motoiq have taken it onestep further than me by doubling the vibrant resonators back to back(like I did to the magnaflows.)

Exhaust hangers
Our factory rubber exhaust hangers are soft and floppy,so an upgrade it always a good thing with a bigger exhaust. It will also give you the ability to get closer to the swaybars and whatnot under the car.
Some good info regarding rubber hangers can be found here.

12mm- Loose fit, a little bit of play

Compound

Rubber- Good insulator for noise and vibrations, but will dry-rot and "sag" over time.
Polyurethane- Will transfer some noise and vibrations into the car. Wont rot as fast as rubber, or rot at all? I have no long term experience with poly.

Vendors

NISMO
I know these very well. I have put these on many of my friends cars before. Very nice pieces. But the cost is a bit ridiculous at around $18-$20 a POP. And not to say that these are on backorder from NISMO and have been for a couple months. I would like these but the cost turns me away.

Kartboy- Cant find our style 10mm hangers anywhere. I "GOOGLED" to try and find some, but all I see is Subaru hangers. And all I see on the forums is old FS threads. Any info if these are even made anymore?

Torque Solution- It looks like these may work being 10mm and same type of design of the OEM hangers, I want to get others input before I buy though. How would these compare to the kartboy hangers? I have never seen what kartboy hangers look like.

Dodge Neon SRT-4 Exhaust Mount Kit

I am currently using these http://www.frsport.com/Circuit-Sports-Exhaust-Hanger-Bushing-Kit--Set-of-3-_p_2460.html really like them...they are blue though, wish they were black. They are harder rubber than stock, but slightly softer than polyurethane(kartboy).I actually snapped a couple kartboys ,so I tried these.( and they are the right size)

Another option has come to my attention.heres the thread
http://www.sr20-forum.com/general-sr20/56093-great-cheaper-alternative-kartboy-hangers.html

Heres the link to paranoid Fabrications from that thread.http://www.paranoidfabrications.com/...-hangers-12mm/
It seems like it will be a great deal if they are 5 for 20 buck.
