"THE" Brake Thread
*** IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE MORE THINGS TO ADD, FEEL FREE TO POST. YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.***

I only hope that I can make this thread as useful as Shawn B's Suspension Thread, or Cliff's Tire Thread. This thread will be constantly updated as I get more info. I've always been a "Do your own research" type of guy. So, this wont be a super detailed thread with citations and things like that. I'll at most just provide links to information. After that, you're on your own. Most people already have basic knowledge of what goes where when it comes to brakes. This will just be a thread to tie everything together as best I can.

So let's dive in, shall we?

Overview

First off, brakes come in 2 main parts: caliper and rotor. The caliper squeezes on the rotor which slows the wheel, whether it's a car or bike. So when you upgrade your brakes, it cant be just one or the other.

B13 OEM Rotor Size: 250 x 18 mm
B14 OEM Rotor Size: 234 x 7 mm
NX2000 OEM Rotor Size: 257 x 26mm(ABS) or 250 x 18mm(no ABS)

Clearly, there's quite a difference.
That's a little lead into the next section, which is....

Upgrades

I should mention, the debate on whether a Altima MC should be required with ANY upgrade is a valid one. However, at this time I'm NOT going to recommend it, simply because I dont have enough info to make a wise decision on it yet. But do keep it in mind.

I've actually done the Altima MC change myself. One thing I've noticed, the Sentra MC is stamped "38", while the Altima MC is stamped "44". Anyone have any info on that?

OEM Rear

NX/B13
B13's have a choice of rear calipers to work with. Both rear 91-94 Maxima (J30) and G20 (P10) calipers will provide an upgrade.

As for rotors, B13s can use JDM NX rotors. Still working on exactly what that means, I will return to this section with more information.

B14

My personal experience! 95-99 Maxima/Infiniti I30 calipers will fit the B14 rear.

There are a couple of rotor choices here. Both will involve redrilling. You have 95-99 Maxima rotors, which are 5x114, or you can do B15 Sentra rotors, which are 4x114. The rear Sentra rotor also shares the same hub size as the B14, so they have the potential to be more easily redrilled than the Maxima rotor. Still unclear as to the validity of this statement at this time.
