Yes, although Ashton has been saying the 6spd box uses the evo gears, in my eyes, nothing has been proven as of yet. It supported "ONE" (1) full on drag launch and that's it.

Not knocking the gearbox, but I am man that believes in facts.......And the verdict (in my eyes) is still somewhat out.

Regardless, this thread foucs has nothing to do with a fwd box, so I am arguing a moot point anywho...................

I see your point about the dyno I guess but what about the dude overseas that destroyed his P11 box on the dyno at close to 600whp? I forgot his username with that being said Ashton made a shitload of dyno runs. Sorry to clutter up your thread with irrelevant posts OP I'm done now.

As said both evo and VAG haldex have been used also Celica ST205 has been done as transplants.

In terms of stock replacement Quaife do a semi-helictical, PAR do straight cut as do PPG. As for cases STR Motorsport have been making braces and Maxworx have the billet case.

Those are as far from cost effective as Neptune is from Earth

tranmission swaps aren't cheap either; factor in custom gear linkages, drive shafts and prop, bell housing conversions and then you've got something thats still only OEM strength (all be it not Nissan OEM strength lol). Evo swaps are definately not cheap as you need RS diffs and transfer box which fetch a premium (in the UK any way). Certainly more expensive than a PAR/Quaife gearset in a braced case.

My current build is going to use a Quaife gearset, PPG final drive, STR case brace with a OS Giken R2CD and a hydraulic release bearing conversion. If that fails then I may think about a swap

I know the lad in the UK running the Audi 6 box speed in a GTiR.
No linkage probs as its cable linkage.

When he 1st got it he tested it on the 1/4 mile at .7bar boost with a misfire and got a low 12

He swapped the turbo and now running 1.2bar, everything else in the engine is std.
Should be going back on the 1/4 to retest soon

It goes very very well on the road.
