Is anybody else using methanol injection?
Like the title says, is anyone experimenting with methanol/water injection? I recently installed it in my car, and I've been tuning it (on my way to and from work only) but still haven't figured out if I'm running too big of a nozzle or what. I am having some misfire under wot (never happened before install.) I turned my airflow map back to stock, My fpr is still cranked up a bit, but thats the only thing I've got going for extra fuel delivery at this point. Just wondering if anyone else has been running methanol/water and has been through it. thanks

what size nozzle are you using and what psi pump do you have? also are you progressive or not

I've installed and tuned it on a few cars, although typically a 50/50 water/meth mix.
Never on a GTi-R though. So I guess I'm of no help?

pump is a cooling mist 150psi pump, non progressive (boost switch turns it on at 10psi) and a hago m10 nozzle (12gph). I really have no frame of reference to go off of because the only person I know who has run meth/water in a 54c is my friend that has methanol in his sentra, but he cant remember what size his nozzle is. I was running an m15 (18gph) and it flooded the hell out of it, I was misfiring a lot more, now it's happening less but still happening unfortunately. I know the logical thing to do wound be to go to the next nozzle down which is an m5 (6gph) but I just wanted to see if anyone has ironed out this problem yet. Just put new plugs(gapped at .030),cap,and rotor. I'm thinking I'm either dumping too much fuel in and drowning out my spark or not getting enough spark (haven't changed plug wires yet.) But before the meth/water I could go wot to redline with no issues.

How much power do you think you're making at 10 psi?
I mean, that's stock pressure... You're on what kind of turbo? Stock?
Who the hell needs water/meth at 10 psi?

What I would do with your setup is turn the water/meth on at 15 psi instead. That should even things out better.

Also, you could do 100% water or 75% water and you might also do better.

Your major problem is that you're going extremely rich when you activate the water/meth because all of a sudden you're adding a lot of fuel. Adding the same amount at 15 psi will be less percentage of fuel so you won't go as rich. Or adding more water would also prevent going so rich.

You're rich misfiring is my hunch.

I'm running a greddy gt2510 at 15 psi, Honestly I've tuned a handful of my own turbo cars and my car feels to be around 280-300hp. (i'm running a sard fpr at 3 bar) all my tuning is done though my greddy emanage, and I did crank my airflow map down to stock because I put in the methanol. I have it coming on at 10psi because I'm running more advanced timing than stock as well, and the reasoning for the 50/50 mix was because I wanted the extra fuel delivery as I am keeping my injectors stock. I've heard so many different of people running very different mixes, like 80meth/20water, 50/50 of course,75water/25meth,etc. I really don't know what the best mix is, but everyone i've talked to that has actually squeezed out 40-50hp has been on 50/50 with a pretty good timing advance. My nozzle is an m10, I also have an m5 that I could throw in, It may keep me from drowning out:/
