WTB: GTI-R Shell
Hey gents. I was curious if any of you know of a gti-r shell available for sale in North America.

I'm not interested in titling it. If I manage to pick one up it'll be used as a track car.

So here is what I'm looking for.

A gti-R rolling shell, no body damage, no rust. Ideally a car that has a blown engine but everything else is still in working order. Also I'm not interested in cars that have been chopped and welded back together, or cars that have previous accident damage.

Let me know if you know of any cars that would fit my needs. Thanks.

getting across the boarder isnt hard im sure with the new boarder enforcement . as long as you have the proper paper work for the car its all you have to worry about. if you wanted to register it may take a little more but isnt that hard since its not being imported by ship theres no duty taxes exc. just the normal crap. id run up there and get it if i could. Wife isnt happy with the cars i have now let alone a gti-r. she dont undersand its a car and runs thats all i need ..lol.. so she says. anyway nissancrazy may know more bout getting a car from canada but i cant promise. but i know if i drove up there today and bought it and the paperork for the car i could get t back home in time for dinner. okay its late in th day maybe not dinner but in no time at all.

Easiest thing would be for a canadian guy to drive it into the US. Then hop on a bus back to Canada. Of course assuming the car is registered for road use in Canada.

The 4500 dollar car is a bit high for my needs. I did check it out on craigslist. I'd rather spend something in the 500-3000 range. I mean for a track car you're going to rebuild everything any how, and strip the interior.

I wouldn't mind throwing an Avenir in it, as I'm not looking to take it above 300hp. Most likely stock power and just suspension and safety mods. If this was the UK or AUS purchasing a shell wouldn't be too bad. Sadly we have been deprived of so much Japanese goodness on this continent.

So all I have to do is get someone to drive it across the border, and they drive back? Registration does not matter, just deregistration from Canada as being sold for parts is what I want... Hmmm I'm going to have to do some more research about this driving the car over the border thing. I don't mind taking a trip hell its 800 miles west of me just to get out the state, LAWL.

I think of it like this. Canadians can drive in and spend some time in the US. Have somebody drive in their car, pay them, they head back home, you make the car disappear. If you're never driving on public roads, no harm no foul.

I have to research but I don't see why towing in a shell is not possible. It's just like you're buying parts.

Or you could just wait until 2014 when the first Gti-r's become 25 years old ;-).

In some areas of Houston I see vehicles with Plates from South American countries as well as Mexico. Not even vehicles that we sell here in the states. Seat, peuogot, fiat, etc. And they can drive around on our roads, but we can't own them? These laws don't make sense that we have in the US for vehicles.

yes its wack how the laws are. i've known a few people that have bought cars from canada and registered them here from canada its so much easier then to import from like japan. from canada basically pass inspection and emmissions. well if you have emissions. I personally have never had a emissions test so i have no idea how hard or easy they are to pass. I'm like about a hour away from Canada and umm 2 hours from where that gti-r is. id love to have it and drive on the streets just cause how many others have one around. you would get the attention indeed. and of course the wife would never let me. but if i bought her like a suburban that help me get one ..lol.. since i have all the cars and she is stuck with the mini van . .
