Speed Sensor Question?
Hey guys I have another question for you guys. Well here I go, well as you guys might know I am building a offroad buggy and I am putting in a gti-r engine, I am going to get the whole engine with harness and ecu but in the buggy I have to run a volkswagen bus transaxle so my question is what the hell should I do about the speed sensor? Is it electrical or mechanical? And the other thing is because I will not be using the speed sensor will I have any affects from not running a speed sensor? I found an ecu pinout for the gti-r and it shows to each injector it gets a signal from the speed sensor so I dont know what would happen if I just did not use it? Thanks in advance for the help guys.

-the speed sensor's are usually off of the tranny, so what ever tranny you use, is the sensor you will need as well,
-now the fwd use mechanical's i am sure it will fit a 4wd tranny as well, the 4wd is electrical in which you will need the plug from the harness.
-as for not using it, it's iffy to me but i remember mines was plugged in but didn't work for a month, and all of a sudden it did work all on it's own from then on.(so what i'm saying is it wasn't working and the car still ran fine)
now what tranny are you using again?

I have to use an old volkwagen tranny in order to get enough angle on the driveshafts because it will have 18" of travel and the way it mounts is the engine will be all the way in the back with the tranny right behind your butt.
The reason I ask is because I cant use the speed sensor at all so I was asking because I know in certain cars if you have a check engine light it will throw the car into limp mode and your car will run like crap.
