My egg is cracked!!!! need help!!!
I got a 91 nissan nx 1600(GA16de) auto, everything started on sunday when i tried to start the car, it turned on for five seconds then it shut off, turned it on again and shut off, i was kind of low on fuel so i thought that was the problem, so i filled it up, same thing, then i drove it for like 1min than it turned off again, so i decided to tune it up, spark plugs, dis cap, rotor, wires, air filter, then i checked the fuel filter it was dirty as hell, i mean mud was coming out, so changed it, but before that i tried a new coil, same thing. it turns on runs like crap then it turns off, after i replaced the fuel filter it turned on finally, i drove it like 40 miles, then it started doing the same crap again.

I was driving it then it turned off on me, then i was looking under the hood and there was no spark to my wires and injectors, so i changed the ecu, got spark and fuel, but it turns on then off again.

I changed the fuel pump cause i thought that might be the problem, same thing, checked relays, fuses, self diagnose the ecu, the code is 55 everything is fine.

I could start checking every single sensor but i know if one of them is bad the ecu would tell me right.

after i cranked it for a certain time, and the car turns on and off, is like the ecu dies, cause i dont get any spark to sparkplugs or injectors, i have to reset it, then i get spark again but the same thing happes, turns on runs like crap then it turns off.

I need help please anyone, thank you in advance.

Might be a long shot but check your battery or alternator?

finally i figured it out, it was the distributor, it was going on and off thats what caused it, every single time i was not getting spark, i had to reset the computer and then i would get spark again, thats why i thought it was a brain problem, I didn;t know distributors could act like that, from what i know they just go out and thats it, I guess i was wrong, my egg is rolling again ,

thank you guys, thanks for the advice:biggthump
