Silicon Vacuum Hoses To Improve MPG's?
Reading this SE-R.net page

I'm up between 3.4 - 4.5 HP from just the stage 2 pulley upgrade!?! I know, hard to say considering the time between runs and different dynos - but I'm up in both cases! The only thing I can possibly attribute any other gain was switching to silicon vacuum hoses (a stretch but I know my gas mileage has increased slightly as a result).

How would they help? Sure, they might be smoother, but that's not where the engine gets its flow. I call dyno error margin here for the HP difference, and driving conditions for MPG.

Way too many variables at play to trust either of those results

Thats what I thought. A hose is a hose, only the intake is what really needs smooth surface hehe.

Maybe one of his hoses was blocked, and installing a new hose fixed that problem?

Quite possible. Though I am more inclined to believe it was simply chance because it was too small of an increase to be measured accurately given the circumstances

Haha true true. Maybe it was really the pulleys that improved the MPG's

it might be that the silicone keeps the heat down and you get colder intake temps? i duno haha

No I don't think he's saying that. I think he's saying the pullies helped inrease mpgs. That I believe.
Unless you had really bad old cracked lines with leaks... I don't think Shell Black had that problem.
