issues with my car
i have a few issues i haven't been able to figure out even after replacing parts and stuff.

issue #1 my car has a bad hesitation problem. Between gears 3-5 around 4-5.5k rpms it feels like im hitting a big gust of wind head on. could it be injectors or timing... ive never messed with timing on this car. it also hesitates in 5th gear at times

issue #2. Gas pedal settings are weird.... i dont know how to describe it. i barley get on the gas pedal and the car ups and goes pretty good but if i try to get on it and have the pedal down it loses power or doesn't make any or even hesitates.. i know the b14 is got some age but ive owned a 75 celica and i could stomp the gas pedal all day and i wouldn't lose power. if any1 local to Cincinnati that wouldn't mind riding in my car and see if you could help figure out wuts wrong id really be grateful

Agree with Old Guy. Sounds like the TPS is bad.

Best way to check is to do a voltage check with the car in the ON position (not running). Black lead of multimeter to ground, and the red lead to the signal wire. Believe it is the bottom wire to the TPS? Should read .46VDC closed, and >4VDC WOT.

I had the same problem with the hesitation, @ 4.5-5 then power would kick in around 6.5-7rpm. I regrounded the maf, replaced spark plugs and wires, f/f you name it nothing fixed it....until.... I cleaned the MAF w/ crc mass air flow cleaner spayed on a q-tip and cleaned the wires. Never had the problem again got power all the way through now.
