b14 1.6 to 2.0 question
Hey guys, ive had my ga16de for a while now and shes dying... i have everything to rebuild her but im just thinking of doing an sr20de swap! Now i found a lot of resources on what i need to swap her and i found a lot of websites that sell sr20de's. But im having a hard time finding out what sr20de is obd2 so i can make use of what harness i have in the car. Can someone give me a list or point me into the direction of what sr20de are obd2? thank you!

well the harness in ur car has to go, u have to get a sr one. also where u located, im pretty sure u could pick up a junk yard de for cheap or try to get a ve if possible. ull need tranny, harness, engine, crossmember, mounts, clutch, ecu, and other small things. ask urself if its really worth it

Yeah i have a "sr20de obd2 harness" so what sr20 should i look for?
Will these both work with obd2?
SR20 DE DOHC Engine only 99+ - Engine only - Nissan & Infiniti

SR20 DE DOHC Red Top Engine only 91-96 - Engine only - Nissan & Infiniti

Im not too concerned with a VE, i already have a k24 civic, just looking for a nice swap in my city cruiser..

Look for the lowport manifold, thats OBD2.

Both engines you posted are JDM spec. The top one is a Roller Rocker and the 2nd one you posted have the lowport manifold. Most people find the RR engine a better swap replacement if not going VE. Just need to find a Lowport manifold to make it work. Look up Meeners RR swap for more info.

Sorry, i dont know shit about sr20's =/ lol

I guess i should re-frase my question. I want to do the easiest jdm sr20de swap. I have a 96 sr20 wiring harness. What can i buy from an importer that will just drop right in the harness no worries?

I believe most JDM engines never came as OBD2, always had blue ecu plug (OBD1). You shouldn't have any problems swapping any SR engine in, just have to reuse a few USDM sensors.

Werent the engines the same, just the computer system was different? I've put in engines from a 93 into my 97, no problems. I dont think they built the engines any different

Correct me if im wrong buds. But the JDM SR20DE that comes with internal ignition coil will do the trick....
