Look what fell out of my engine bay today at 40mph *pics*
Just got my '97 SE-R back from a shop because I couldn't figure out why my check engine light keeps coming on throwing codes 0707 and 0901 (front & rear 02 sensors) even though I replaced both and reset the ECU, and tried both the stock & JWT ECUs. The car has power steering, A/C, the usual bolt ons, etc. And otherwise runs well.

So, I'm driving home from the shop (did I mention the check engine light came BACK on for the sensors?? :mad when I hear a strange sound from the front passenger side of the car, sounded like I ran over a huge rock and it was caught somewhere in the wheel. My first thought was that the engine blew but it was running fine, EXCEPT that both the Brake light and the Battery lights came on on the dash at the same time. I was freaked out, and I saw something rolling on the road in my rear view mirror behind the car. I drove home the rest of the way (like 2 miles) with no problems then drove back to the same spot with a different car where it happened to see if I could find what was left on the road. I found this on the shoulder:

WTF?????????????? I called the shop the car was just at immediately and they told me they didn't touch anything except the 02 sensors. Could have been a coincidence, but I'm not so sure.... now I just started the car up, it sounds fine, but the alternator belt is turning REALLY slow and the brake & battery lights are on on the dash.

Edit: apparently it's the crank pulley that seperated

Crank Pulley outer half finally broke loose? Did you look at the pulleys and see which was missing?? Pretty scary stuff....

Crank pulley. Your engine light and battery are on because of the belt is loose to the alternator.

I've seen the outer ring separate before, but never fly off like that!! The shop ain't to blame on that one, it's just bad timing.

That sucks. I have seen them separate but never come apart.
