Thread: Sentra Se-l Curb Weight

Anyone have a rough idea of the curb weight of a se-l sentra vs. a b14 se-r? Found a local one near me Im thinking about picking up but its sole purpose will be a street car. Just want to see how much weight ill be sacrificing if I go the 4 dr route since Im trying to build a light dd/street car.

This is what i got from a quick edmuds search. I cant confirm the source as accurate either, but almost 1000lbs seems to be a bit too much of a difference imo.

SE-L: Curb weight: 3481 lbs.
SE-R: Curb weight: 2540 lbs.

If i remember correctly me in my car with half tank of gas was at 2750 or so I was probably 180 then. It's only like 50lbs more as it's the same chassis.

I'm at 2780 with no ac unit, but I'm sure the turbo makes up for that weight reduction lol.

My SE-L weighted 2660. With a T28 turbo, avenir manifold, 2.5" steel exhaust (much heavier then 3" ss exhaust). STi Muffler (another heavy one). 20lb toolbox in the trunk, spare wheel, jack etc.








Those numbers are wrong for the SE-L, for 99 1.6L sure, not 2.0

Edmunds actually shows: Curb weight: 2617 lbs.

You're splitting hairs with the added weight issue. It's the rarest of the B14's here in America. It's also the best looking. Just buy the damn thing and stop worrying about trivia. You can always add power to compensate. SE-L aren't about all out performance, anyways. Remember, "L" stand for "Limited Edition" as in rare. I see it as more of a gentleman's SR car in terms of use. It can also pass as a family car to the public but still fed your inner boy racer when you need it too. My only complaint is for big dudes, it's a tight fit. That and the obvious missing VLSD.

I prefer the se-r's over the se-l's for the sole fact that they look better, imo. I just like the idea of having 4 door's in the case that they'll be more people in the car. Idk though, Im kind of stuck between which one to choose from. I may just wait it out and see what comes my way. Heres the link of the se-l on craigslist in case anyone was wondering:

Looks good but check to make sure it was not in a wreck (or if it is the correct year)

1) White faced cluster came in the 98/99 MY.
2) The front on this current car is 95-97 MY.
3) The rear tail light assembly is from 95-97MY.
4) The interior is 95-97 MY color
