yes he is, but his issues before were slightly different, it was revlimiting at 6800, but the vvl was fine an it pulled ok till it hit the rev cut, issue was a loose screw on the back of the cluster causing a speed sensor code.

dan, just swap the dist, hook the wires up correctly and not how i had them and get the distributor so the gap on each side of the bolt is even, that should put you in the right area for timing.. leave the vvl unplugged and go for a drive, if it runs fine, hook the vvl back up, shave the plugs or do whatever to make it fit. i have faith you can accomplish this alone, then i can come over an set the timing with a light and all should be well (that is if the dist fixes the issue)

the knock sensor code is %100 normal, i've seen it on tons of our cars, even my friends altima's

as for the egr, look up the resistor trick and give it a shot!

YOU CAN DOOOOO EEEEEETTT!!! heheheheh

Let me know what you did for the EGR resistor (if you get it to work) because I'm getting some sort of EGR DTC as well

Doesn't the ECU pulling timing if you get a knock code?

Well if the knock code is tripping a DTC it will retard timing to help prevent detonation or at least this is how I understand it to work; so if there is something wrong with the dizzy or timing is way off it could cause that a knock sensor to trip a trouble code. OR if the knock sensor is bad or the leads to it are bad then the ECU will retard timing because it can't see knock. If there is a suspicion of something wrong with the distributor start there since it's the easiest to get to

Do you think it's something with the internals on the dizzy that's bad like the coil or possibly rotor?

Got new dizzy in in the few minuites i had. Got her to start up, and run and adjusted to the best of my ear that i could without a timing light. Going to go out with nistune in a bit and try to see where it says its at (i know nistune is not accurate on it, but better than just guessing) till josh can bring a timing light over. But i revved the shit out of her heard not nocking or bad sounds, and none of the freaking out that she was doing.....but i wont know for sure till she warms up, i drive her for awhile, and get to get on her some.

If this wasn't a forum about car's and we didn't know what you were talking about... That may have labeled you a pervert... haha

At any rate, be sure to let us know! Let's just hope it was a bad dizzy
